Police Trust Fund Commissions Upgraded Gombe Divisional HQ

By David K. Goni

The Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) has commissioned an upgraded divisional police headquarters in Gombe State as part of efforts to strengthen security infrastructure and improve policing services across the country.

Government officials, security personnel, and community representatives attended the inauguration of the facility, described as a model divisional headquarters, on Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Mohammed Sheidu, said the upgraded headquarters would enhance the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and support effective community policing in the state.

He noted that the project aligns with the federal government’s commitment to improving security and public service delivery under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Sheidu, the facility will foster stronger collaboration between law enforcement agencies and residents, thereby creating a safer environment and strengthening efforts to combat crime.

He added that modern policing requires adequate infrastructure and technology, stressing that the upgraded headquarters would provide officers with a more conducive environment to carry out their duties effectively.

The project was executed in collaboration with Galaxy Backbone, which equipped the facility with digital tools and technological infrastructure aimed at improving communication and operational efficiency.

Sheidu urged residents to support security agencies by cooperating with law enforcement officers and providing timely information that could assist in preventing criminal activities.

Representing Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at the commissioning, Deputy Governor Manassah Daniel Jatau commended the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for the intervention.

Jatau described the project as a significant investment in the security architecture of Gombe State and a demonstration of the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

He called on officers and men of the command to maintain the facility and make effective use of the resources provided, assuring them that the state government would continue to collaborate with security agencies to promote peace, safety, and sustainable development across the state.
